Wilbur Hot Springs

Wilbur Hot Springs lies at the end of a long road in a remote valley about two hours northeast of San Francisco making it an easy day trip detox while visiting the wine country. Since 1865, folks have been shedding their clothes here to enjoy these rare mineral-rich waters known for their bone-warming and circulation-stimulating properties.

Here, where shy deer lurk between trees and dragonflies hover and hum, you can spend a few meditatve hours in beautful silence soaking your bones in a warm stone bath. Other options inclued a retreat into a dark hot sauna, or a soak in a hot pool overlooking rolling hills.

There is also a wonderfully well-appointed communal kitchen on site so guests can cook upo  the food they must bring themslves to use during their stay. Everything about this place is remarkable, from the rare quality of the wind and water, to the respectful reticence of the staff.
