Handley Cellars in beautiful Anderson Valley boasts not only a brilliant winemaker in Mia Handley, but also a commendably conscious approach to both farming and wine making. They source their grapes from small, local, family growers, and whenever possible, select fruit that is farmed organically. All of their Estate Chardonnay and sparkling wines are produced entirely from their own organic-certified fruit, as are most of their reserve bottlings of Pinot Noir.
Always mindful of the impact of their wine production on their rural valley location, they farm responsibly and work to encourage healthy living soils. As a result they are rewarded with consistently intense fruit that showcases both strong varietal characteristics and unique regional attributes.
Handley’s Estate Vineyard Pinot offers pronounced aromas of cherries and violets with a loamy, toasty overtone. On the palate you’ll find rich flavors of dark ripe, red fruit and hints of cinnamon. Silky tannins and firm acidity combine beautifully to give the wine a long and complex finish.
