Building Bridges, Not Walls
In honor of the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge, Canessa Gallery will host an exhibit entitled Building Bridges, Not Walls opening on July 14th and running through August. The event will include paintings, drawings, photos, prints, collage and short poems by Bay Area artists, poets and photographers. A companion exhibit, opening on July 15th at the History Center of San Francisco Public Library and also running through August, will display historic photos and objects from the construction of San Francisco Bay Area bridges and celebrate the immigrant engineers, women and culturally diverse workers who designed and built them.
