When Outerlands first opened its doors nearly a decade ago it received swift acclaim for both its fine baked goods and its toothsome brunches. Today, the restaurant continues to lure locals and visitors alike far out past the fogline of San Francisco’s Sunset district for healthy and delectable bites.

Featuring locally-sourced organic produce from longstanding sourcing relationships with K&J Orchards, Free Spirit, and Dirty Girl Farms, dishes here can run the gamut from sweet to savory. Popular choices include sumptuous Dutch Pancakes, Glazed Doughnuts with Fresh Fruit, and a Summer Vegetable Sandwich featuring two perfect Sunny Side Up eggs.

Owners Lana Porcello and Dave Muller (who trained with Tartine’s master baker Chad Robertson), have now scrapped their former plans of opening a new sibling venue over on nearby Taraval Street in order to keep their focus firmly on sustaining and celebrating the unique character of their wonderful neighborhood out on the edge of the city.
