Mushroom Wine & Beer Fest

Every year in late October, as the first rain begins to fall, mushrooms flourish in abundance in Mendocino County. Exquisite Chanterelles, Porcinis, Morels, hedgehogs, and maple syrupy Candy Cap mushrooms can all be found in area forests. To celebrate the seasonal abundance of the Mushroom, Wine & Beer Festival is held during the first week in November. Though mushrooms, wine, and beer are the main focus of the event, wild edibles are also celebrated during the festival including seaweed, nettles, and locally fermented products such as kombucha and cider.
