This coming spring, on March 2-4 & March 9-11, 2018 (11:00 am – 4:00 pm) each day, The Wine Road, Northern Sonoma County’s organization of 100+ wineries welcomes you visit th wineries and local lodgings for a weekend of wine tasting. Here’s s your chance to sample wines from the barrel, talk to winemakers and fully explore the beautiful Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys.
Keep in mind that Barrel Tasting is not a food pairing or themed event. It’s all about the wine and many wineries offer “futures” on their barrel samples. This is a chance to purchase wonderful wine, often at a discount. Many of the best wines are available in limited quantities so buying futures can sometimes be your only chance to purchase them.
Tasters should remember to pack their own picnic as most wineries will not have food for this event. The ticket price includes the opportunity to sample wine from the barrel and in most cases also trying a limited number of current release wines.
There will also be a Winemaker Breakfast and Q & A on Saturday March 3rd and Saturday March 10th. Tickets must be purchased for this added event during registration. This is an open forum for guests to meet and chat with winemakers in a casual breakfast setting with Q & A. The Q& A is not a wine-tasting experience, just breakfast and conversation.
Tickets are $25 plus tax and fees.
