Sonoma County’s El Molino Central, is an outpost of authentic Mexican “street food”. Owner Karen Waikiki fell in love with Mexican cuisine early in life and studied with legendary Mexican food maven Diane Kennedy in Michoacán. Waikiki buys all of her produce from local organic farmers and works with a group of very talented women, all raised in rural Mexico, to showcase their rich culinary heritage.
Chile Rellenos here involve their own fire-roasted Poblanos filled with sweet corn and melted Queso Fresco and served with a side of pureed black beans and fresh tomato salsa. They offer wonderful fish tacos, ultra-fresh guacamole, and refreshing Agua Fresca (try the cantaloupe!). Bags of handmade stone-ground corn tortillas can be ordered to go.
