It’s hard to downplay the impact that Cafe Gratitude has had on Northern California cuisine. With it's inception, owners Terces and Matthew Engelhart brought both brilliant raw-food artistry and an authentic passion for community to the Bay Area and in the process turned what was once an outlying part of the culinary imagination into very familiar terrain indeed. Now, for vegans, leaning-vegans, upright vegetarians, and even straight-up carnivores, the couple have created Gracias Madre, a mission district restaurant offering a dynamic and delicious “lightly-cooked” Mexi-vegan menu. |
