Marvelous plummy aromas meet red liquorice notes on the palate in the full-bodied zinfandel offered from Napa valley’s Frog’s Leap Winery in Napa’s famd Rutherford district. With its well-integrated tannin structure serving as the base for delicate features such as hints of blood orange at the finish, this is a finee wine to serve with traditional holiday foods ranging from fresh sweet corn, herb-infused poultry, or roasted meats where citric hints are present.

The winery was founded in 1981 on a spot along Mill Creek known as the Frog Farm. Inside and old ledger revealed that around the turn of the century frogs were raised there and sold for $.33 a dozen and destined no doubt, for the tables of Victorian San Francisco gourmets.
